At the heart of HIS is our new HART Multiplexer, the Mux2700. It acts as a gateway between an asset management workstation, and the field instrumentation.
The Mux 2700:
- Fully compatible with AMS Device Manager
6.0, 6.1 and 6.2
- Uses RS485 serial data connection
- Plugs directly into the Elcon termination, IS and
external interface panels. Requires no additional wiring
- Can be multi-dropped in a single network of up to 31
multiplexers and 992 HART devices
- Support for HART Rev. 6, including HART
message length of 64 characters
- Requires no complicated master/slave
configuration
- Enhanced noise detection algorithm
- Enhanced Failed Communication checks and
recovery mechanism

AMS Device Manager 7.0 Installation
To ensure compatibility between AMS Device Manager 7.0 and the Mux 2700G, upgrade your MUX firmware using the upgrade utility. To install the files, please follow the following directions.
- Download and Unzip the following files to a temporary folder name (using the embedded folder names).

- Double Click on FWUpgrade folder.
- Double Click on BIN folder. Read guide file.

AMS Device Manager 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2 Installation
To ensure compatibility between AMS Device
Manager 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2 and the Mux 2700G, the DD and resources files need to be installed manually from the software. To install the files, please follow the following directions.
- Download and Unzip the following files to a temporary folder name (using the embedded folder names).

- Under the AMS Device Manager menu, run the "Add Device Types Manually" application
- Point the install folder to the temporary folder into which the zip file was unzipped
- Start AMS Device Manager
HART OPC SERVER SOFTWARE:
To ensure compatibility between HART OPC software and the Mux 2700G, the hartopc.ini and harttables.ini files must replace the original files first installed on your
computer. To install the files, please follow the following directions.
- Download and Unzip the following files to a temporary folder name (using the embedded folder names).
HART_OPC_FILES.zip (9 KB)
- Copy both hartopc.ini and harttables.ini files to the program directory where the HART OPC software was installed.
- When prompted to replace existing files click on "ok".
- Start HART OPC software.
