Pepperl-Fuchs Elcon's HART panels are designed to complement the I/O termination panels and provide access to all HART information. They provide a very clean, elegant and robust solution for on-line HART communications. HART information is extracted without interfering with the 4-20mA signal used by DCS or PLC systems. Our panels can incorporate redundancy, filtering and diagnostic circuitry, as well as connect directly via cable to the DCS I/O termination panels. Installation Only signals that carry HART information need to be routed through HART panels. The illustrations below highlight the two most popular methods of accessing HART signals externally to the DCS FTP using the popular HPSM/32/TB-02/HF32 (with filters) and HPSM/32/MM-01 "MiniMux" panels. Connecting to marshalling terminals. Using either the existing terminals (with wiring in parallel) or for cleaner wiring "1 in 2 Out" terminals. Specific signal pairs containing HART signals can be connected to Elcon external panels via screw terminals or DCS cable (depending on system).
An installation of Elcon External Termination boards in Parallel Series connection. The HART panel mounts between any DCS field termination panel assembly and the incoming field wiring. It gives access to the HART signal for 32 field instruments and can also act as in interface terminal strip for marshalling.
An installation of Elcon External Termination boards in Series. Only signals that carry HART information need to be routed through HART panels. The HPSM/32/TB-02 is the foundation of this product line. It is simply a passive module that gives the Mux 2700 access to the HART data.
